Futurehausen was founded in 2006 when beatmaker Franz Spencer and singer and guitarist Angela Aux took a few days off in the wilderness. Armed with a great amount of minidisks they spent their time lying around in forests listening to their favourite music – mostly psychedelic or krautrock and experimental hiphop. Their project L’egojazz did very well, so there had been a long time without totally rejecting from crazy life in their studio apartment with endless recording sessions and working out live shows. Under assistance and navigation of “One stupid futurist” (the coolest motherfucker on the planet) and Lind Bohm (Krautnoise) Futurehausen recorded four songs during summer 2008 for their debut EP “Alles kann viel sein” (Everything can be anything). Few live shows on the short film festival “INSTANT 36” or with some of their favourite musicians Hans-Joachim Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia) and Why? (Anticon) turned out to be successful enough to motivate Futurehausen for further actions: the complete album “cloud factory”, mos def to be recorded in this years Smiths action in Hallein, Austria. |

Awesome music. Brilliant melodies, combined with many influences of very very different styles. Dont't get me wrong, different styles means not arbitrariness. It means not wearing earblinders. Something I often really miss. Many musicians are caged in their style tribe. Futurehausen is the opposite. Great record! Lind |
